Gola River

Gola (Gaula) River is one that flows from the mountains of district Naintal. This seasonal river can be seen prominently from Kathgodam to Haldwani. During monsoon the rivers swells which otherwise run dry. Along with the rain water this river brings in resources like sand and stone also known as RBM or River Bed Material. RBM is used in construction.

Of late, there are many accidents reported in the river at various locations. Attracted by the water in the river, people try to swim. However, the depth and flow of the river cannot be determined easily. It can swell anytime as one never knows what happening up in the mountain. It can be sunny in the plain but raining heavily in the mountains. Hence people lost their precious life.
